PocketScout Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 August 2026
PocketScout is a free-to-play fantasy football app for Android. You build squads, lock them before real match windows, and earn in-app PocketScout coins (PS). This policy explains what data we use, why, and with whom it is shared. It applies to the Google Play version of the app.
We do not sell your personal data.
1. Who we are
Data controller: Omnia Labs (KvK 42141030, the Netherlands)
Privacy contact: robin@omnialabs.nl
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide
- Guest profile: a display name and club name you choose. This stays on your device unless you later sign in with Google.
- Google account information if you tap Google Sign-In: name, email address, profile photo URL, and a unique Google user ID (via Firebase Authentication).
- Support communications if you email us.
2.2 Information stored on your device
Most of the game lives locally on the phone:
- Your club name, stadium theme, owned player cards, lineups, lock status, PS balance, and monthly totals.
- Walkthrough / onboarding flags and lock-reminder settings.
Uninstalling PocketScout removes this local data from that device.
2.3 Information collected automatically
- Device timezone — used only to show lock deadlines and countdowns in your local time. We do not request GPS or coarse location permission.
- Advertising identifier (Advertising ID) — used by Google AdMob to show and measure rewarded ads, subject to your device settings.
- Purchase tokens — when you buy a PS pack, Google Play Billing returns a product ID and order ID so we can grant coins. Payment card details are processed by Google, not by us.
- Push / lock reminders: if you allow notifications, the app schedules local lock reminders on the device. We do not operate a PocketScout marketing mailing list.
2.4 Live scores
To attach real matches to your locked XI, the app sends the club names of players in that XI to football data providers (currently football-data.org and TheSportsDB). Those requests are about teams and fixtures, not your name or email.
3. How we use your information
- Run the game: squads, locks, live points, packs, and the PS shop;
- Optional Google Sign-In so you can restore a named profile;
- Grant PS after a verified Google Play purchase;
- Show rewarded ads (AdMob) and optional double-claim / form boosters;
- Remind you in local time before a round locks;
- Look up real fixtures for clubs in your locked XI;
- Respond to support and deletion requests;
- Comply with legal obligations and prevent abuse of purchases or ads.
4. Legal basis (EEA / UK)
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Providing the game, local save, lock windows, live scores | Performance of a contract |
| Google Sign-In | Performance of a contract / your consent when you tap Sign in |
| Play Billing (PS packs) | Performance of a contract |
| Rewarded ads (AdMob) | Consent or legitimate interests, as applicable under Google’s UMP / your device ads settings |
| Lock notifications | Consent (notification permission) / legitimate interests for the reminder you asked the app to set |
| Device timezone for countdown | Legitimate interests (show the same global lock in your clock) |
| Fraud prevention on purchases and ads | Legitimate interests |
| Legal compliance | Legal obligation |
You may withdraw consent in Android settings (notifications, ads personalization, or by signing out). That does not undo processing already done.
5. How we share information
We do not sell your personal data. We share data with providers only to operate the features above:
| Service | What is sent | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Google (Firebase Auth, Play services) | Google Sign-In token / profile if you sign in | Optional account |
| Google Play Billing | Purchase token, product ID, order ID | PS pack purchases |
| Google AdMob | Advertising ID and related ad data, subject to your settings | Rewarded ads |
| football-data.org / TheSportsDB | Club names from your locked XI | Real fixtures and live scores |
Their policies also apply, including the Google Privacy Policy.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect Omnia Labs, our users, or the public.
6. In-app purchases and ads
Euro payments go through Google Play. We only receive enough information to credit PS. Cards in PocketScout are bought with PS, not with a direct euro price per player.
Rewarded ads are served by Google AdMob. You can limit ad personalization in Android settings (Google → Ads, or Privacy / ads). Debug builds of the app use Google’s test ad units; the Play Store build uses our live AdMob app.
7. International transfers
Google and the live-score providers may process data outside the EEA (including the United States). Where required, we rely on those providers’ safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses).
8. Retention
- Local game data: until you clear app storage or uninstall.
- Google Sign-In: until you sign out or delete the app; Google retains your Google account under Google’s policy.
- Purchase records: Google keeps Play order history; we keep only what is needed locally to grant PS. Accounting copies of orders, if any, are kept as required by Dutch tax law (typically up to 7 years).
- Support emails: as long as needed to handle your request, then deleted unless we must keep them for a legal dispute.
- Ad data: handled by Google AdMob under Google’s retention rules.
9. Security
Network requests use HTTPS. Purchases use Google Play Billing. We do not store payment card numbers. No method of transmission is 100% secure.
10. Children
PocketScout is not directed at children under 13. The app includes ads and optional paid PS packs. Do not use it if you are under the age required in your country for this type of service. Purchases follow your Google Play family / payment settings.
11. Your rights
Depending on your location (including GDPR in the EU), you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent, and you may complain to your local authority. In the Netherlands that is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens: autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.
Because most PocketScout data is on-device, uninstalling the app is the fastest way to delete your club. For anything we hold (for example a support email or a Google-linked profile we can still identify), use the deletion page.
12. Your choices
- Google Sign-In: use Guest instead, or sign out in the app.
- Notifications: Android Settings → Apps → PocketScout → Notifications.
- Ads: Android Settings → Google → Ads (reset Advertising ID / opt out of personalization).
- Purchases: managed in the Google Play app and your Google payments profile.
13. Changes
We may update this policy when the app or the law changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
